Statistics

The viewer presents the time series submitted to the EEA and the aggregations calculated by the EEA. It is based only on data validated by the contries (data flow E1a) and is updated every Monday evening.

The main window is divided into four parts:

  • the map where the stations are indicated by dots coloured according to the measured concentrations;
  • to the right side of the map, a box plot calculated for all the stations appearing on the map;
  • to the extreme right, the legend and additional details: number of stations
    in pie chart, concentration bands and colours, EU and WHO standards. The red colour is systematically used when the values are above EU standards (when existing). The points corresponding to one band of concentations will be highleghted by clicking on the corresponding colour..
  • at the bottom, a window presenting the box plots by country ranked on increasing median value. This graph always contain the boxplots for all the reporting countries -the filter on country does not apply here.

When hovering over the points -map, box plots-, a small tooltip presenting the corresponding station appears. By clicking on a point/station, the same tooltip includes functionalities to locate station on Google Earth © and to download the raw data.

The three white buttons appearing at the top of the window allows to access:

  • the filter window where the search criteria can be changed. Please note at the bottom of the list, a toggle which allows to exclude or include potential outliers in the different views (see details on outliers in the separate page).
  • a window showing the evolution of the concentrations over the past years starting in 2008 -the filter year does not apply here- in three different graphs: box plot, density of points and evolution of the average concentration by country. The tooltip displayed in these graphs when hovering over points/stations do not include the download and locate functionalities.
  • a window presenting the distribution and cumulative distribution of the concentrations. The bin size is automatically calculated.
